When we say-WHY ME, GOD.....!

Last week, I 'enjoyed' a different weekend. I met with a minor road accident and I got multiple bruises all over my arms and legs. My right knee also got healthier than its left sibling. All this caused some changes in my daily routine like walking with limp, trouble in using stairs etc.
I was a bit cursing the almighty for all this trouble-"Yaar! Kya tere ko main uchhlta-koodta bura lagta hu?"

Why I am narrating this personal experience on my blog? Not to gain sympathy from my friends, for sure. Today, in the evening, I and my wife went to the park of our block with our 3 year old son. There was a man  taking a stroll. My wife pointed towards him and told me that he has some serious health problem. I got curious and I went to him and greeted him. We sat on a bench. I inquired about his health. He told me that he is suffering from cancer. He had tumor in his stomach which put pressure on his kidneys also. He had a well paid job in textile industry which he had to leave because of his condition. I was shaken to know that he went through 6 sessions of chemotherapy at PGI in last 6-7 months. (This reminded me of our cricket star Yuvraj Singh, who also went through the same experience.) He did tell me that he will be operated upon soon to remove the left-over tumor from his body.

We conversed for 10-15 minutes and I realised that he has went though a testing time of his life. What a difference I got! It made me think that my pain was nothing. I wish his surgery to be successful and he again lead a normal and healthy life.

Some wise person once said, "When life gives you lemons – make lemonade!I also want to do the same thing now. It is still summer and I can, well....enjoy lemonade.

What do you think?
